Why printed output shifts even when preview looks correct

Preview confirms object placement, but not media feed, sensors, driver settings or mechanical print origin.

What this page helps you do

Preview confirms object placement, but not media feed, sensors, driver settings or mechanical print origin.

Checks and steps

  1. Measure horizontal and vertical error in millimetres and record the direction.
  2. Confirm that BarTender and the driver use exactly the same media dimensions.
  3. Check orientation, rotation and portrait/landscape settings.
  4. Recalibrate the printer with the actual label stock.
  5. Reset driver and template offset compensation to zero before testing.
  6. Print a bordered label with centre lines and adjust only one setting at a time.

Scope and verification

Do not move template objects and change driver offsets at the same time. Change one setting, record the result, and keep the cause traceable.
