Matching a paper-roll label to the current roll number

Paper-roll label printing can include a roll-number QR-code check before the label is produced. DomainGZ (广州市领域物联网科技有限公司) integrated this step into a delivered manufacturing project's BarTender printing workflow. Businesses connecting roll identification to workstation printing can assess the approach against their actual operations.

In this project, the operator selects the customer and product, checks the slitting order, then selects the label type and template and completes the print information. When the paper-roll label type is used, the application opens a roll-number checking screen before printing. The operator scans the roll QR code and proceeds after validation. The order check identifies the job; the roll-number check verifies the object before its label is printed.

During system selection, explain how roll numbers are created, where they appear and when staff can scan them. Whether the number comes from an upstream system or an existing physical label affects data access and workstation arrangements. Exchanging roll data with a production system, handling reprints or supporting multiple workstations should be listed separately so that interfaces and processing rules can be assessed.

Production checks must also be distinguished from sample printing. The project's sample mode can bypass order and roll-number validation. If sample mode should be restricted to designated staff or require a recorded reason, specify that during solution design. A visible scanning step alone does not mean every printing mode applies the same controls.

Acceptance materials can include an anonymized order, corresponding roll-number examples, a paper-roll label template and common mismatch scenarios. Agree what happens after a successful scan, who handles a failed check and how label content is reconfirmed after a template change. Tests should follow the agreed matching rules, with records retained for training and handover.
