BarTender SDK: finding one product by primary and auxiliary barcodes

This BarTender SDK development project maintains primary and auxiliary barcode relationships and resolves registered auxiliary codes to a unified product record in desktop searches and PDA scans. The BarTender SDK provides development tools for connecting label printing to business software; the program uses the customer's software interfaces to generate labels automatically and invoke printing.
A retail product may have a primary barcode and auxiliary barcodes. If a store searches only by the primary code, scanning another valid code on the packaging may not find the product. Treating every code as a separate product would duplicate names, prices and template settings.

The project maintains a relationship table for product codes, primary barcodes and auxiliary barcodes. Desktop searches match the entered barcode against both primary and auxiliary codes. After a mobile scan, the application first checks the auxiliary-code table. When it finds a match, it resolves the scanned value to the corresponding primary barcode, then queries the product within the current store's scope. The screen indicates whether the product has multiple barcodes and displays the brand, product code, name, regular price, promotional price and promotion dates.
In the BarTender printing flow, the template uses the primary barcode and business fields from the unified product record. Template settings are still located by product code. Different valid codes can lead to the same product and template rules without a separate price-label configuration for each auxiliary code. The current scope covers primary and auxiliary codes already maintained in the relationship table. New code types, GS1 rules, validation methods and data from other channels can be configured separately according to the customer's existing coding rules.
Questions and answers
Will the auxiliary code itself be printed on the label?
The existing flow first resolves the auxiliary code to the main product record, and the template primarily uses the unified product fields. Displaying an auxiliary code depends on a separately designed template.
Can desktop users also search by an auxiliary code?
Yes. The barcode filter matches both primary and auxiliary codes.
Are unknown barcodes grouped automatically?
The current flow resolves codes already registered in the relationship table. New barcodes must first have their corresponding relationships maintained.
