Scheduling product, barcode and BarTender template synchronization
Store price-label data changes as product names, barcodes, prices and promotion periods change. Templates may also be reassigned by the backend. A household and personal care retailer needed its printing clients to refresh these inputs on a schedule while retaining a manual update option.
The desktop application provides a scheduled-sync switch and accepts multiple distinct times in HH:mm format. It also supports manual synchronization. At the specified minute, the application reads the current store, temporarily disables the timer and updates the product list, primary-to-auxiliary barcode relationships, and regular and promotional template configuration in sequence. During the main synchronization flow, a changed template name or missing local file causes the relevant template to be downloaded again.
Synchronized products are stored in a local SQLite database. The printing screen continues to search and select records from that local list. Fetching network data and printing individual labels are therefore separate stages, and operators can work with the state available after synchronization.
The delivered client supports several fixed synchronization times plus manual updates. The update scope covers products, auxiliary barcodes and template files.
Procurement questions
Can several times be configured? Yes. Multiple HH:mm entries are supported, and the application prevents duplicate time entries.
Does synchronization cover only prices? The main flow also updates auxiliary barcode relationships and checks regular and promotional templates.
Is synchronization real time? It is scheduled synchronization triggered at configured minutes, supplemented by manual updates.
